About FreeWebsiteToApk
The publishing-side companion to a free Android app builder, written by people who have read a lot of Google Play rejection emails.
Who we are
FreeWebsiteToApk is built and maintained by SmartrixLabs, an independent software studio. We also publish AppMint, an Android app that builds apps from websites, documents and media on the phone, and the sister site FreeWebToApp, which is about installable web apps (PWAs). This site is about the part that comes after the build: getting listed on Google Play and staying listed.
Why the focus on publishing
Building a website wrapper is a solved problem; dozens of tools do it. What people write to us about is what happens next — the account verification, the closed-testing requirement they didn't know about, the Data safety form, the rejection for "minimum functionality" with a policy link and no explanation. So the guides here are organised around the Play Console's own steps, with the answers that apply to website-based apps specifically. Where Google's rules are strict, we say so, and where they are commonly misunderstood, we quote them.
How the builder treats your data
The APK/AAB builder runs in your browser using WebAssembly and JavaScript served from this domain. Your URL, icon and settings are assembled into the package on your device and downloaded from memory; we operate no build server and receive nothing. The site uses Google Analytics and is funded by Google AdSense advertising, as described in the privacy policy. There are no accounts.
Commitments
- The download never contains our ads, tracking or attribution.
- We do not invent statistics or testimonials. There is no "trusted by 50,000 developers" on this site because we can't substantiate a number like that and neither can anyone else who prints one.
- Guides carry a published date and an updated date, and are corrected when Google changes a rule. If you spot something stale, tell us — it is the most useful email we get.
- When the honest answer is "use a different approach" — a PWA, or a native build — we say it, including on the comparison page.
